Acceptable use policy
Purpose
This policy sets out the rules for using the NeoRank service, published by the publisher identified in the legal notice. It supplements the terms of service and forms part of them; where the two conflict, the terms of service prevail.
It applies to anyone using the service, with or without an account, including the free audit and the NeoRank AI assistant on public pages.
Permitted use
- Analysing the SEO, AEO and GEO visibility of sites you own, administer, or act for under their owner's mandate.
- Following competitors through the data the service provides (rankings, answer-engine observations, market data), within your plan's quotas.
- Connecting your own sources (Search Console, Analytics) and sharing the resulting reports within your organisation or with your clients.
- For agencies: managing your clients' sites in separate spaces, within the subscribed plan.
Prohibited use
- Extracting data from NeoRank's pages, results or interfaces with bots, crawlers or automated requests (scraping) outside the API and MCP server provided for that purpose, or circumventing quotas, rate limits and security mechanisms.
- Declaring, verifying or deep-analysing a site you have no right to, or using crawling to overload or disrupt a third-party site.
- Using the service to carry out an attack, unauthorised penetration testing, vulnerability scanning of third-party systems, or to distribute malware.
- Submitting, hosting or producing through the service content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, hateful or that violates third-party rights.
- Sharing your credentials or one seat between several people; each user must have their own access.
- Reselling, providing to third parties or white-labelling the service or its results without prior written agreement, in particular under the partner programme.
- Reconstituting a protected database, or using the results to train a model that competes with the service.
- Publishing a review that is false, misleading or does not reflect your own experience of the service, publishing a review on someone else's behalf, or offering or accepting anything in exchange for a review.
Use of AI features
- AI-generated content (NeoRank AI assistant answers, diagnostics, syntheses, rewrite proposals) is provided for information. It may be incomplete or inaccurate: check it before any decision or publication.
- Do not enter sensitive personal data (health, opinions, banking data, credentials, passwords) or confidential information in questions to the assistant or in prompts for AI features.
- Attempting to divert AI features from their purpose (bypassing instructions, extracting internal instructions, generating content this policy prohibits) is forbidden.
- Answer-engine visibility measurements rest on dated observations of third-party services NeoRank does not control; they are not a guarantee of citation.
Automatic fixes, API and MCP server
- Connect to automatic fixes (Auto-Fix) only sites you control, or for which you have their owner's permission. You remain responsible for the changes made to those sites by the fixes you have enabled or approved.
- API keys and MCP server access belong to your workspace. Keep them confidential: do not share them, publish them or embed them in publicly accessible code; revoke a compromised key without delay. Actions carried out with your key, including by an AI agent you connected to it, are attributable to you.
- Respect the rate limits and quotas of the API and the MCP server; circumventing them, in particular by multiplying keys, accounts or workspaces, is prohibited.
- Use the API and the MCP server only for the sites and data your workspace legitimately has access to, and in line with this policy.
Fair use and rate limits
- Each plan carries quotas (tracked sites, crawled pages, analyses, AI requests…) shown on the Pricing page and applied at the time of use. An operation that would exceed a quota is refused; it is never billed as overage.
- Crawling honours the robots.txt of the sites analysed, under a bounded page budget and timeout.
- The free audit and the NeoRank AI assistant are subject to per-visitor and global limits, to keep the service available to everyone.
- Abnormally intensive use, even within quotas, may be temporarily throttled if it endangers the service's availability for other users.
Breaches and sanctions
Where this policy is breached, NeoRank may, depending on severity, block the operation concerned, restrict access, or suspend the account under the terms of service (section "Account and access"). A serious or repeated breach may lead to termination of the account.
Except in an emergency (a threat to the security or availability of the service, manifestly unlawful content), the account holder is informed and invited to respond before suspension.
Reporting abuse
To report abusive use of the service, unlawful content or unwanted crawling of your site, write to hello@neorank.ai with the URL or domain concerned, the date and the nature of the problem. Every report is reviewed.
Reporting a security vulnerability
If you discover a vulnerability in NeoRank, report it to security@neorank.ai (the address is also given in /.well-known/security.txt), describing the problem and how to reproduce it.
Do not exploit it beyond what is strictly necessary to demonstrate it: do not access or modify other users' data, do not degrade the service, and do not make the vulnerability public before NeoRank has had a reasonable time to fix it.
