Features

Advertising and Google Ads

The “Advertising” view brings together three measured sources: your Google Ads campaigns (read, never changed), the sessions Google Analytics 4 attributes to a paid medium, and the market CPC when historical checks exist.

The three sources

SourceWhat it bringsCondition
Google AdsSpend, clicks, impressions, CTR, average CPC, conversions, spend per day, search terms and campaignsA Google Ads account connected to the workspace
Google Analytics 4Paid sessions, paid share and total GA4 sessionsGA4 connected and linked to the site
Historical checksThe market's average CPC on your tracked keywords, weighted by their search volumeOnly if the former market-data provider had read them

Connect Google Ads from the connectors (Integrations); if your access sees several accounts, including through a manager account, you choose which one to link. The “Your Google Ads campaigns” card then shows:

  • Spend, clicks, impressions, CTR, average CPC and conversions (as Google Ads counts them). CTR (clicks ÷ impressions) and CPC (spend ÷ clicks) are recomputed from the totals, never by averaging daily ratios.
  • Spend per day, over 90 days at most.
  • The top search terms over 30 days; when there are none, your keywords are shown instead.
  • The campaigns sorted by spend, with their status (Enabled, Paused, Removed) and type (Search, Display, Shopping, Video).
MessageMeaning
“Google Ads is not connected”Nothing is measured and nothing is estimated instead.
“Google Ads is connected; no data has been synced yet.”The account is linked; the figures appear after the next sync.
“The campaigns target other sites”The campaigns' final URLs point to other sites of the workspace: nothing is attributed to this one.
  • Only one currency is shown: the one carrying the most spend. Campaigns in another currency are left out, never converted.
  • Paid sessions: the sessions GA4 attributes to a paid medium (cpc, ppc, display…).
  • Paid share: their share of all GA4 sessions of the same source / medium rows. A share of visits, not spend.
  • GA4 sessions: all sessions, every medium, the base of the paid share.

Market CPC

The average market CPC is the cost per click the former market-data provider reported for your tracked keywords, weighted by their monthly search volume. It is a market price, not your spend. Without a historical check it is not shown: NeoRank estimates none (see Measurements and estimates).

Read-only

Google offers no read-only Google Ads permission. So NeoRank limits itself to two operations: listing the accessible accounts and reading reports. It creates, changes and pauses no campaign. To remove access, use “Disconnect” on the connector (see Access security).

What is not offered

Data freshness

  • Google connectors sync automatically, at a pace that depends on your plan (see the plans).
  • Each sync re-reads the last 90 days of campaigns, because Google Ads revises recent days' conversions.

A method

  1. Connect Google Ads and GA4.
  2. Compare Google Ads spend and conversions with the paid share GA4 measures.
  3. Spot the paid search terms you could win organically, then track them in Rank tracking.
