Features

Keyword research

An explorer of your tracked keywords: the demand Search Console measures for your site, search intent, position and the queries that trigger an AI Overview or a citation by an AI engine. No market volume is estimated.

What the view shows

“Keyword research” lists the keywords NeoRank tracks for the site: added by you, suggested by the analysis or imported from Search Console. For each one it gathers what is really measured: Search Console impressions and clicks, intent, position, whether a Google AI Overview appeared and which AI engines cite the site.

Where the figures come from

Freshness

  • The demand signal and the Search Console positions follow each sync of your Google connectors, at a frequency that depends on your plan. Google publishes its figures 2 to 3 days late.
  • AI Overviews are read once a day, up to a number of keywords per site, where automatic tracking is enabled.
  • This view has no “Refresh” button: no NeoRank source replaces the retired provider's rank checks.
  • The header's country filter does not apply to this view.

The KPIs

TileReading
Tracked keywordsThe number of keywords tracked for this site.
Demand signalThe sum of your site's Search Console impressions on the tracked queries (28 d), with clicks and the number of queries below it.
With AI OverviewKeywords for which a Google AI Overview was seen in the automatic readings of the last 30 days; a keyword never read is not counted.
Competitive gapsKeywords a competitor ranked for and the site did not, from the latest historical reading.
With measured volume, Total measured volume, Median KDShown only if historical values exist; a keyword without a value is never counted as 0.

The charts show the split by search intent (with the number of classified keywords) and, when historical values exist, the difficulty and monthly volume distributions.

Reading the table

ColumnReading
Keyword / queryThe tracked text. The “Gap” badge flags a historical competitive gap.
IntentInformational, commercial, transactional or navigational. The “estimated” tag marks an intent inferred from the text: an estimate, not a measurement.
Demand signalYour site's Search Console impressions over 28 days, with clicks.
PositionSearch Console average (“90 d” when it covers 90 days), or the latest dated historical check. “Not ranked”: a check exists but your site was not in it.
AI trigger“AI Overview” if Google showed one, and the AI engines citing the site. “No trigger”: read, nothing seen; “Not measured”: never read.
Action planOpens the keyword's panel.

Absences are named: “Not measured” (no measured source), “Not reported” (no historical value for this keyword), “Not read yet” (the reading will come at the next sync or analysis) and “Not offered by NeoRank” (no possible source). See Data sources and “Not measured”.

Filtering and exploring

  • Seed keyword and match type: “Broad” (any word), “Phrase” (the word sequence), “Exact” (the whole keyword) or “Related” (the other keywords sharing a word).
  • Intent: all, or one of the four intents.
  • Difficulty (KD): only if historical difficulties exist.
  • Columns sort; a keyword without a value stays at the bottom.

Common actions

  • Action plan: current position and its source, the page to act on, the position to aim for and the steps — detailed in Rank tracking.
  • Track this keyword in AI engines, from the keyword's panel in the “Rank tracking” view: it becomes a prompt of the “Mots-clés suivis (IA)” set and its citations are read after each observation. See AI prompt groups.
  • Export to CSV (neorank-keywords.csv): raw values, empty where nothing is measured, with each position's source, the demand signal and a column saying whether the intent is estimated.
  • Copy JSON: copies the filtered list to the clipboard.

Limits

  • No new keyword suggestions and no market volume: your Search Console queries are the best source of real ideas (see Search Console history).
  • The number of tracked keywords depends on your plan (pricing).
  • Without Search Console connected, there is no demand signal and no average position: connect Search Console.
  1. Connect Search Console and let the first sync fill the history.
  2. Sort by “Demand signal” and filter by intent.
  3. Open the action plan of the priority queries.
  4. Track them in AI engines, then check the keyword gap.
