Connect Search Console or GA4

  1. Go to Settings › Integrations (/settings/connectors). The dashboard's “Connect Search Console” and “Connect Google Analytics 4” buttons lead to the same place.
  2. Pick the source and enter the property: sc-domain:example.com (domain property) or https://example.com/ (URL prefix, with the trailing slash) for Search Console; properties/123456789 for GA4.
  3. Click “Connect with Google” and grant read-only access.
  4. On return, NeoRank checks that your Google account really has access to the property entered: a verified user of the Search Console property, a property present in your Analytics account. If what you typed matches none of them, the page lists the properties that account can read: pick yours and click “Connect this property”, with no second trip through Google (the choice is valid for ten minutes, once).
  • Only the workspace's Administrator and Strategist roles can connect a source.
  • Connectors belong to the workspace; each connection targets one property.
  • Google may show “Google hasn't verified this app” while NeoRank's app is in testing with Google: the advanced link on that screen lets you continue. Access stays read-only.

What is synced

Search Console
Daily totals (clicks, impressions, CTR, position) and detail by date, page, query, country and device. URL Inspection (read-only) is used to measure indexing.
Google Analytics 4
Daily totals (sessions, active users, page views, engagement rate) and detail by date, landing page, source / medium, country and device, with average duration, events, key events and revenue.
  • Each sync re-reads the last 7 days (up to yesterday, UTC); detail is capped at 10,000 rows per sync.
  • The first sync also brings back up to 16 months of daily totals; detail is not brought back over history.
  • Syncs are automatic, from every 2 hours to once a day depending on your plan; the exact time depends on the last successful sync.
  • GA4 demographic and affinity data is not synced.

When the figures appear

  • At every sync, the days received from Google are copied into NeoRank's views (overview, traffic, pages) — no need to wait for a new analysis any more. An analysis (“Re-analyse”) copies them too.
  • Google publishes its figures 2 to 3 days late: the last day shown is often the day before yesterday. The latest days can still move, and NeoRank updates them at the next sync.
  • For each day GA4 sends a total and a detail (landing page, source / medium, device, country). Visits and their trend come from the total; acquisition channels and devices come from the detail, only available on the days synced since the connection (7 days re-read each time) — hence, at first, visit totals going further back than the channel split.
  • “Last analysis: date” and the Re-analyse button sit to the right of the breadcrumb on every page of the site.

“Connected but no visit”

The message “Google Analytics 4 is connected but has reported no visit” means the connector works but no day of sessions is recorded for this site. Check in order:

  1. The GA4 property is the right one (the one measuring this domain) and it has sessions over the period.
  2. A GA4 property names no domain: NeoRank assigns it to a site of the workspace that has a matching Search Console property, or to the workspace's only site. Otherwise the site stays “Not measured” rather than show another site's traffic. So connect Search Console for this domain too.
  3. Wait for the next sync (see the pace above), or click “Re-analyse”.
  4. If the connector shows “Google access expired” or “Sync interrupted”, click “Reconnect”.

Connector states

StateMeaning and action
ConnectedThe latest sync succeeded.
Connected, no day receivedThe link works; wait for the first sync.
DegradedA sync failed; it will be retried. If the state persists, reconnect.
ErrorThe provider's last error code is shown; reconnect from Settings › Integrations.
Access revokedThe authorisation is no longer valid; reconnect.
Google access expired — reconnectGoogle no longer accepts the grant (revoked or expired): only a new consent restarts the sync. Data already imported stays shown, dated.

Access security

  • Google authorisation with PKCE; NeoRank requests only the read-only scopes above and writes nothing to your accounts.
  • Tokens are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) before storage and renewed automatically.

What is not available yet

  • Google Business Profile: listing, reviews, ratings and Google Maps positions are not read. Local SEO measures only the business details your pages declare in JSON-LD. The setup plan shown describes a planned integration, with no date.
  • Webhooks and a write API: the REST API and the MCP server are read-only (see API and MCP); no webhook is sent.
