Getting started

Getting started: your first analysis

From sign-up to a first filled dashboard: what NeoRank asks you, what an analysis does, and the three actions that unlock most of the figures.

1. Create your account

Sign up with an email address and a password, or with Google or GitHub when those sign-in options are offered on the sign-up page. With an email, you can sign in only after clicking the verification link you receive (valid 24 hours). If you typed a domain on the home page, it follows you to the next step.

Sign-in methods and account security are detailed in Account and security.

2. Add your site

The account's first page asks for four things, and only these:

  • your organisation's name (the entity that holds the subscription);
  • your workspace's name (your sites, members and connectors);
  • the site name, which is also the brand name looked for in AI engines' answers;
  • the site address.

Language and country come from your profile. No competitor or keyword is asked at this stage. You become the organisation's owner and the workspace's administrator.

3. Run the analysis

In the dashboard header, enter the domain then click Analyse. An analysis runs the steps below; the dashboard shows the current one.

StepWhat happens
Discovery and crawlThe NeoRank Engine reads your site's robots.txt, sitemaps and public pages.
Search and contentConnected Search Console data and the content of crawled pages are analysed.
Technical SEO and AEOEvery page is checked (tags, links, JSON-LD, questions / answers) and scored.
Evidence graph and GEOFindings are tied to their evidence; if your plan includes AI, an observation queries the verified AI engines.
Reasoning, opportunities, missionsPriorities and actions are derived from the findings.
Measurement and reportThe site's KPIs and report are updated.

Cards update when it finishes. No duration is guaranteed: it depends on the site's size, the delay its robots.txt asks for and the number of engines queried.

4. Connect Search Console and GA4

Without a connector, clicks, impressions, positions and sessions show “Not measured”. Go to Settings › Integrations (/settings/connectors), pick Google Search Console or Google Analytics 4, enter the property, then “Connect with Google”. The access requested is read-only. Details in Integrations.

5. Track your first AI prompts

In AI visibility, add the questions your customers ask assistants (“which tool for…”, “alternatives to…”), then click “Run the observation”. Observations require a plan that includes AI. See AEO and AI visibility and engines.

  • Sidebar: the views by goal — Overview; Visibility (AI visibility and prompt groups, rankings, keywords, gaps and clusters, competitors, traffic and market, backlinks, Search Console history); NeoRank audit & crawl, NeoRank's own engine that needs no Google connection (technical audit, pages and discovery); Actions (content, local SEO, advertising, digital PR, alerts); Sources & reports (integrations, reports, MCP connector and API).
  • Period (overview): 7 d, 28 d by default, 90 d, 6 months, 12 months or a custom range, compared with the previous period of the same length.
  • Country filter (globe button): narrows only the Search Console figures; AI, audit and links stay global.
  • Resolution panels: on an issue, a keyword or a prompt, they give the impact, the place, the steps and the verification.

Getting-started checklist

  1. Account verified, site added.
  2. First analysis finished.
  3. Search Console and GA4 connected.
  4. Five to ten prompts tracked, one observation run (plan with AI).
  5. First audit issues fixed, then a new analysis to verify it.
