Features
Connect Shopify (NeoRank app)
Coming soon — The NeoRank app writes the SEO fixes you approve to your store: titles and descriptions, product image alt text, JSON-LD and redirects — nothing else.
Step by step
- In NeoRank, Settings › Connectors, Shopify card: enter the store's name.myshopify.com address (Shopify › Settings › Domains), then “Install the NeoRank app”. The app installs from NeoRank: Shopify then shows its permission screen.
- Accept the permissions in Shopify; you come back to NeoRank.
- NeoRank checks that the store's primary domain is the site's. Otherwise the card stays “Waiting for the domain check”: set the domain in Shopify › Settings › Domains, then “Check again”.
- For structured data: Online Store › Themes › Customize › App embeds › turn on NeoRank JSON-LD, then Save.
Permissions requested
| Shopify permission | Why |
|---|---|
read_products, write_products | Product and collection SEO, alt text read on the product, the JSON-LD metafield |
read_content, write_content | Page and blog article SEO |
read_online_store_navigation, write_online_store_navigation | URL redirects (301) |
write_files | An image's alt text |
What NeoRank can change
| On Shopify | How |
|---|---|
| SEO title and meta description | Search listing of products, collections, pages and blog posts |
| Alt text | Product images |
| Structured data | A NeoRank metafield printed by the app embed |
| 301 redirects | The store's URL redirects (to a page of the store) |
| /llms.txt, links in content | Guided only (never written automatically) |
A page with no editable object behind it (the home page, the cart, a draft product) answers “Nothing on this page can be fixed automatically”.
Password-protected development store
A development store whose storefront asks for a password only shows NeoRank its password page: neither the audit nor the verification can read your pages. The card then offers a Store password field — the one shown in Shopify admin › Online Store › Preferences, not your account's. It is encrypted, never shown again, and used only to read this store's pages.
Check, pause, revoke
- Check the connection, Pause / Resume from “Manage”.
- Revoke uninstalls the NeoRank app from the store and deletes its token; uninstalling the app in Shopify revokes the connection too.
Common problems
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| The store's primary domain is not this site's | Set it in Shopify › Settings › Domains, then “Check again”. |
| Shopify did not grant every permission needed | Install again and accept the whole permission screen. |
| This Shopify install link expired | Start again from the connectors page. |
| The install was cancelled in Shopify | Start the install again and accept. |
| Shopify refused this password | Copy the storefront password shown in Online Store › Preferences. |
| Not verifiable: the store is password-protected | Enter the store's password on the Shopify card. |
| This site is already connected with WordPress | A site has one platform: revoke the other first. |
